Panthers 20 - Aces 3.
Well, I flew over from Dublin to
photograph the Matt Hampson Bowl
in aid of the Matt Hampson trust.
As a rugby union fan I photograph a lot
of games, but I have to say I really enjoyed
this match - more than I thought I would.
Okay I was a little lost sometimes but most
of it made sense, and even though I watch the
Superbowl every year I really wanted to
get into the rules and technical side to
it. I understood a lot about it - I suppose
photographing an actual match is probably
the best way to learn as it's all happening right
in front of you.
It was a pleasure to meet and chat with
Matt Hampson too, a very witty guy and a
real inspiration -I'm proud to say I've met him.
It was also a pleasure to meet Martin Johnson
again, the former England and Leicester
Tigers captain - a total rugby legend -
who played in this game at 97 DE. (DL)
I had a great day and night and managed to
forget how bad the weather actually was!
I would like to thank Rex Harrison for giving
me the opportunity to experience the whole
event. I would also like to thank Jack Russell
for allowing me to literally go anywhere I wanted
at Welford Road! Also the Welford Road grounds
managers for their kindness and welcoming me
to this great place full of wonderful atmosphere.
I look forward to going back again soon.
